289.Longstone Edge, 7th May, 2023

I came here a few days back with Jess but the walk we tried was not a great success though lunch in the Packhorse Inn was lovely. Annoyed with myself, I came back to do the walk properly.  Parked in Great Longstone. There is a path across fields to the south of the village leads to Little Longstone. One of the fields had a massive herd of cattle blocking my path but I was brave and marched right through them unharmed. From Little Longstone a path rises through sheepy fields to meet the B6465. Up to the top where another path leads one onto Longstone Edge. A path leads over he highest point then skirts the big quarries to the south before arriving at a confluence of paths. From here an easy descent, steep at first, then not, leads back to Great Longstone.
