I did this walk on 20th December, 2009 in a blizzard. This was a bit different. A beautiful June day. There is a road from Low Bradfield to High Bradfield but for walkers who don't care to use it there is a footpath running parallel to it a bit to the west. The upper and lower bits of this path are rather narrow and would be difficult to pass someone consistently with social distancing. Happily I met nobody. Between these narrows its a climb over pasture, There were cows about ignoring me. Left at the church to main road and then straight over and up to the top of Onesmoor, a lovely spot. Sheffield stretches out before you. And on, delightfully, down to a lonely bit of road. Right at the cross roads a short way on the right again. This heads across bright yellow rape fields to hit Kirk Edge Road by Kirk Edge Convent, built in 1871 as an orphanage.Right here and the left on a track downhill to Cliffe House Farm. Right at the farm and down a lane and soon back at High Bradfield then back to Low Bradfield the way you came. If you want a good choir country walk very near Sheffield this is worth checking out.
