It was a lovely Sunday in early spring and it was busy. Happily the car park in Edale is big and some kind soul was leaving must as I arrived. Grindsbrook Clough is a lovely way up onto the plateau. The upper reaches are sometimes described as a scramble but it’s barely that, just a bit of clambering over boulders in the upper reaches. From the top it’s an easy stroll to the cairn on Grindslow Knoll. Then I followed a mostly decent path to Pym Chair, I say mostly decent. At one point my foot sank deep in some mud and when I pulled it out the boot stayed behind in the mud. Recovering it was not fun. From Pym Chair there is a faint path north to the 636m spot height which is the little visited summit of Kinder Scout. There is no path that I saw west from there to Kinder Low but I went that way anyway and it was not too bad. Thence Pennine Way all the way back to Edale.
