The Peak DIstrict was very very busy today. Happily there is always parking at Chatsworth. From the carpark I walked up past the farm and right into Stride Wood. South first above the house past a pond on the left then sharp right to where an aqueduct looms above the path. Here there is a steep, partly stepped path up path the waterfall leading to another N-S path which I followed north to some more steps that I climbed to another N-S path. There are a lot of paths hereabouts. North to the Hunting Tower and on to Dobb Edge. I followed this to the main path near the road but lost the main path near the end and cut a corner on an unpleasantly exiguous path through dead ferns. Heading back Weston the main path I was heading to the Jubilee Rock but was distracted by a huge herd of red deer which I lingered to admire cutting another corner to pick up the track back to the car park past the Game Larder.
